Gaians Enjoying Her Gifts

moderated - created 06/03/05

Our ancient ancestors celebrated a unique oneness with Gaia. They
lived in tribes who knew the proud accomplishments of providing for
their members in myriad ways, without pillaging the willing Earth
Mother beyond her capacity to bear anew what was harvested. They
gathered grains and herbs, fruits and nuts, and in the proper seasons
they hunted the plentiful fowl, the fur bearing providers of meat, and
fished the silver flashing bounty of rivers and seas. They were
grateful in their stewardship of the gifts that Mother Nature provided.
They knew that life is an endless circle: birth, life, death, and
rebirth were continually visible all about them. They knew and
celebrated this gift, this continuity of all that was, is,
and shall be.
Today, far too often, we are denied this heritage, this awareness of
our place in the circle.
Earth, air, water, fire, spirit, in the form of our sustenance are in a relationship with us that nourishes not just our bodies--but also our souls?an honest and open acknowledgement of the circle of life.
Do you believe that we who have learned the way of the game, stalked
it to the final moment, and looked into the eyes of our tribes?
sustenance in wonder that out of death comes life, we who
celebrate the gift that Gaia has provided us, should we stifle our
shout of joy?
Or shall we gather together and teach our young this blessed lesson?
Is it time to leave the life denying horror of the cities, even if
only briefly, to renew our ancient heritage, to celebrate
a higher quality of life both physical and spiritual?
Come join us at the Internet campfire. Learn with us and help us to
teach the generations that will follow us.
